New Strength & Conditioning and Rehab partnership - Athlete's Authority

Macquarie University AFL Club ('The Warriors') are excited to announce a Strength & Conditioning partnership for 2021 and beyond with Athletes Authority

As part of the club's drive to provide the best standard of physical care for their players and to enhance the standards of strength and conditioning, the Warriors have partnered with Athletes Authority as the club's high performance and rehabilitation partner.

Athlete's Authority will provide a dedicated team that will take take their strength, power, speed and injury resilience closer toward an elite AFL standard.

Athletes Authority have an extensive and deep knowledge of working with athletes to get the best out of themselves and realise their sporting potential. They have trained 350+ professional athletes and 150+ athletes who have gone on to turn pro in their respective sports.

Head of Performance Lachlan Wilmot said he is excited about the partnership:

"Anyone who knows me knows I live and breathe Australian Rules Football. I played it growing up, and I was honoured to work with the GWS Giants for 8 years as their strength and power coach. Now running Athletes Authority in the private sector, nothing thrills me more than helping grass roots football rise to a higher standard and help aspirational athletes access the expertise and services that pro sport has to offer. We couldn't be more excited to see Mac Uni put their best boot forward in 2021 under the guidance of our team and training systems."

President Kristian Purdie was thrilled to welcome Athlete's Authority on board.

"I am really excited to be able to partner with Athlete's Authority. Speaking with Karl, Lachie and the team at AA, we immediately saw eye to eye about the values and goals we have for our athletes and we both can see the opportunity that we can seize as part of this partnership. As a club we have a duty of care to our players to make them as resilient as possible for the sport of Australian Football, as well as providing opportunities for those players who want to take their game to an elite level."

As part of the partnership, former Warrior and Athletes Authority team member Monique Le Mottee will take up the newly created role of Head of Performance at the Warriors while working full time at Athletes Authority as a strength and rehab coach.

The Warriors continue with week four of their preseason program this week for both men's and women's programs, but it's never too late! The club is always open to players wishing to join the playing group and become a Warrior in 2021.
