The Kookas

Established in 1969 as the “Kookas”, the Macquarie University Australian Football Club (MUAFC) has a storied legacy in the AFL Sydney competition. In 2008, the club aligned with Macquarie University, adopting the “Warriors” branding. MUAFC is a volunteer-run, community sporting club and has evolved into a key community. (?)
The men’s teams have secured premierships in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2009, with the 2009 victory leading to their promotion to Division 1.
The Women’s program has also been successful, wining premierships in 2013 and 2019.
MUAFC’s commitment to excellence has been recognised with the university’s “Club of the Year” awards in 2018 and 2019.
